Damstredet and Telthusbakken

Damstredet and Telthusbakken are two small roads running through the city cntre of Oslo. Here you will find wooden houses from the 18th and 19th centuries. The area has picturesque views of the inhabited houses in the typical residential areas during pre-modernization days.
Damstredet is the street that runs from Akersveien to Fredensborgveien, a 160-metre long street with wooden houses on the side. It has plenty of greenery and waterways located nearby with neatly maintained roads connecting through them. At Telthusbakken, one side has wooden houses while the other side is a large garden area called Egebergløkka. This street runs between Maridalsveien and Akersveien, a 260-meter long stretch located right below the Gamie Aker Church. The multi-coloured wooden houses and the charming neighbourhood are the main attractions of both these streets. Walking tours of both these streets are available throughout the year for both youngsters and adults. A 10-minute walk from Stortinget will head you straight to these streets.
