Bogstadvannet

One of the popular sightseeing destinations in Oslo is Bogstadvannet lake, located on the border between the city and the beach areas of Bærum. It is a popular fishing ground where you can find trout, perch, and whitefish.
The surround landscape and serene atmosphere here make it an ideal weekend getaway location. Outdoor activities that you can enjoy here are camping, swimming, and sunbathing in the summers. During winters, skiing and skating are popular here in the surrounding area. There is a camping ground on the east shore that was once used as a military barrack. Remains of the same can still be found in the area, and are under the administration of the Norwegian military. Towards the south shore of this lake, there a golf course called Oslo Golfklubb, the first 18-hole golf course in Norway. Bogstad Manor is another attraction near the lake, where you will find farm animals, a historic park, a café and lots of playing areas of children.
